ActivStars offers tumbling courses that are a lot of fun while also teaching your children the value of being part of a team and a community. Classes are designed for children to learn respect for others, self respect, self discipline through hard work and persistence while developing physical skills and tackling mentally challenging situations as well as pride in accomplishment. Along with providing lots of fun this program promotes coordination, confidence, poise, increased body awareness, artistic expression, the importance and reward of goal setting.. Our students have the opportunity to master basic tumbling skills allowing them to then develop more advanced skills as their strength and body awareness increases. The strength, body awareness and self discipline that tumbling provides for an athlete establishes a foundation for any athletic area of interest the child may pursue. Children will progress at their own pace while being recognized and encouraged by their peers.

This Tumbling coach position is for one evening per week, Wednesdays at St. Charles Community College, that stays consistent for the full semester, teaching levels 1-3 of basic tumbling. Experience with teaching children is great, tumbling instruction and spotting is necessary. Our Coaches also participate in three or four paid weekend events each semester (dates set in advance).

Coaching responsibilities include practice preparations/lesson plan, overseeing practice check-ins, basic record-keeping, teaching students safely and effectively, tumbling fundamentals, skill building through proper progression and you must be able to spot athletes on the skills.

Paid training sessions will cover our organization teaching guidelines, records, and assisting a veteran coach to see how classes are conducted. This is truly one of the most fun part-time jobs you can imagine for great pay!

Sharing your tumbling knowledge with others is a rewarding and fulfilling way to continue your love for the sport .
